Greg Prichard writes: The Broncos will finish third, but it is Darren Lockyer’s home farewell, so they will fire up. They know they need to be better than they were in beating Souths. The Sea Eagles have been knocked by fallout from the Storm brawl.

AAP writes: Darren Lockyer's farewell tour picks up a level this week in his official farewell to Broncos fans at Suncorp Stadium. While he'll be there a week later for the first final, this is being billed as the legendary five-eighth's chance to say goodbye and thank you. The Broncos will be fired up because of this, and Manly have been decimated by the NRL judiciary. There's a mathematical chance the Broncos can replace the Sea Eagles in second spot with a win. Manly too, could creep past the Storm for the minor premiership if they muster a big win and Melbourne lose to the Roosters.

Key: An interesting scenario, because neither team will want to go off too early with far more important matches to come over the next month. Darren Lockyer is the difference.

BRONCOS: Josh Hoffman, Gerard Beale, Jack Reed, Ben Te'o, Jharal Yow Yeh, Darren Lockyer (capt), Peter Wallace, Josh McGuire, Andrew McCullough, Scott Anderson, Alex Glenn, Sam Thaiday, Corey Parker. Interchange: Matt Gillett, Ben Hunt, Ben Hannant, David Hala.

SEA EAGLES: Will Hopoate, Michael Robertson, Jamie Lyon (capt), Steve Matai, Michael Oldfield, Jamie Buhrer, Daly Cherry-Evans, Joe Galuvao, Matt Ballin, Brent Kite, Anthony Watmough, Shane Rodney, Glenn Stewart. Interchange: Vic Mauro, Daniel Harrison, George Rose, Tony Williams, Terence Seuseu, Tim Robinson (two to be omitted).
